A woman from Texas used her social media to issue a warning to other internet users who are also struggling with frozen cars during snowstorms in the region.
The clip was posted by Chamita on her TikTok profile. In the video, she appears warmly dressed inside a car to explain exactly what you should do if your car freezes during harsh winter conditions.
“You need to get into your car right now, start it, turn on the heater and let the snow melt, because it’s going to keep snowing. The temperature will keep dropping and everything in your car will freeze,” she said.
In the caption, she emphasized that you should never pour hot water over the windows of a frozen car. Apparently, it’s something she has tried to do before. “Trust me. I’ve been very irresponsible once, and it wasn’t very fun,” Chamita admitted.
The video has already received more than 145,000 views, over 4,000 likes, and several comments from internet users sharing their opinions on Chamita’s tips. “No, that’s my excuse not to go to work,” one TikTok user admitted.
“Yes! My windshield was cracked when I got in today,” another lamented. “Don’t defrost the windshield immediately until it warms up with the heater. That can make cracks spread and cause the windshield to shatter,” warned a third user.
